When the World is Muted: Exploring Hypo-Sensitivity Across the Senses (B2.1.1)

You're ready to explore hypo-sensitivity (under-responsiveness) across the different external sensory systems. If you often feel like the "volume" of the world is turned down too low, if you seem to need more intense input to notice sensations, or if you sometimes miss sensory cues that others pick up on easily, this path is for you.

Hypo-sensitivity means your brain may register sensory information from the world around you with less intensity, or it may require a stronger or more prolonged signal to "notice" it. This can lead to appearing oblivious to certain stimuli, having a high tolerance for things others find uncomfortable, or inadvertently seeking out stronger input just to feel something.

Below is a list of our external sensory systems. Think about your own experiences: in which of these senses do you feel you might be under-responsive or need more intensity to truly register the input?

You can explore them in any order, and you can always return here to explore another.
